Description

Restored from a 19th-century plate, this vintage scientific illustration gathers hawks, a falcon, and an osprey—Montagu’s Harrier (Circus pygargus), Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo), Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), Gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus), and Northern Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis)—poised on weathered branches and a grassy riverside, with the osprey grasping a fish. The restoration preserves period character while reviving fine linework and color, making it a striking natural history art print for study or display.
